Robert Stern chose Morbitzer and Amornvivat, at the time both designers in the firm, to create the competition winning design for the International Quilt Study Center and Museum. The team was chosen because of their experience on multiple cultural projects such as Guild Hall of East Hampton, Mark Twain Study Center, and the Valley Forge Museum. They designed a dramatic setting for the study and display of quilts and a signature gateway to the East Campus of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
